International Students

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Difference between International & Transferring

International Students

In order to be admitted to U.S. Ling Institute please provide the following:

All supporting documents can be scanned and emailed to admit@usling.edu admit@usling.com

The documents you need to send will be:

  • Copy of your and any dependents passport(s)
  • Filled out Affidavit of Sponsor Support Form (even if you are the self-sponsored) Affidavit of Sponsor Support Form
  • The sponsor will fill out the form listed above and provide a recent Bank Statement (no more than 90 days old). The bank statement must show at least the minimum required available balance for the time the student plans to enroll at U.S. Ling Institute. For one semester a student must show a minimum of $3,175 USD. For two semesters a student must show a minimum of $6,350 USD. For three semesters a student must show a minimum of 9,525 USD. If the student has a spouse or children that will apply for F-2 dependent visas, the sponsor must provide enough funds to cover the living expenses for each member of the family. For each additional dependent $1000 must be shown per semester.

Pay the non-refundable $100 application fee and the $75 mailing fee

U.S. Ling Institute will review your application form and contact you within 48 hours. If accepted, U.S. Ling Institute will provide you with an acceptance letter via email.

Pay the I-901 SEVIS fee ($200) and print the receipt. You can make the payment here:

Set up an appointment with the U.S. embassy or consulate in your country and get your visa (make sure you take your I-20 and the receipt with you to the embassy or consulate).

After receiving your visa, please make a tuition deposit of at least $540 in order for U.S. Ling Institute to reserve your enrollment and registration for class. Report to U.S. Ling Institute within 15 days of entering the United States to take the placement test and register for classes!

Transferring Students

If accepted, U.S. Ling Institute will notify you via email and will send your Acceptance Letter and Transfer Form to your current DSO. Once your SEVIS records have been released from your former school, we will contact you to come take the placement test, pick up your new I-20 and register for classes. At this time, you will also need to pay your tuition.

TOEFL Test Preparation

Our TOEFL Preparation Program focuses on the comprehensive and hands-on practice of skills and application of test-taking strategies necessary for successful achievement of desired TOEFL scores. Students will learn techniques and strategies to maximize their chances of scoring well and continuing their studied in American colleges and universities.
